When you look at high-level construction project management, you will see there are 5 main stages. Throughout the construction project your construction project manager is responsible for keeping things organised. In this blog post we share what that looks like, at each stage.

  • Stage One

Stage one is the pre-design phase. This is where the project manager is responsible for creating a project plan that helps to keep the whole team organised and on track.

  • Stage Two

Stage two is where the design documents are then reviewed by the construction project managers. They will distribute these documents to the relevant parties, once they have been reviewed and approved. The same is done for all other important files, such as general conditions and contract agreements for example. At this stage it is likely that the construction project management is involved in the public relations side of the construction project too.

  • Stage Three

The procurement work begins around stage three. This is where our project managers will oversee the bidding and the contracting. Your project construction manager will often be involved in bidding and contracting meetings. They will often be managing the negotiating with subcontractors too.

  • Stage Four

This is where the construction management team will be responsible for monitoring expenses. This will include coordinating change orders too. They will also be working to ensure that the project is being completed to the unique specifications of the client. This is a very intense stage of the construction project for the project managers. However, it’s an area in which we are experienced, so we have strategies and software that supports us and your construction project.

  • Stage Five

You may have presumed that stage four, construction, was the final stage. However, the final stage is post-construction. This is where our construction project management team work through the specifications within the project to ensure that client approves of the job in its entirety. There will also be a review of the project and changes recommended where the project management could be improved for the next construction project.
